John, what you are describing is IMO communism, or Stalinism, not socialism
or Marxism.

While I agree that on principle that any "law" may be seen as a rule
requiring force to make it so, many voluntary socialized conditions do exist
even today.

I am not backing "socialist" philosophy or saying it is "better" than
communism - or even that it cannot come to the point you are describing, if
left unchecked.
I am only pointing out that you are describing totalitarian communism and not
the most common forms of socialism in effect in today's government.

Lacking the conditions of dictatorship or totalitarianism, what can be voted
in, can usualy be voted out.
Look at France.
