You can buy CDs in bulk for under $0.50 each with case and labels
(purchasing a couple hundred at a time). The primary question is: what
size production run are you looking for? If you want over 500, I think
it would work best to outsource it, as the companies that do this have
many auto loading systems that allows you to get higher quantity
outsourced for less than doing a lower quantity yourself.
I was in charge of CD production of online manuals for Datamann's MOSP
system, and we'd do 50 CD's every 3 months or so, which is pretty easy
for a single person to do. If that is the level you are looking to do, I
recommend you use Burning ROM, by Nero Software. Make sure you use the
Joliet format and that you close each burn job (don't know how familiar
you are with burning CD's)...
