A new year, a new blank paper.
Stockholm has had more snow over the last two weeks than during the
entire last winter, turning communications into chaos but also
transforming the midwinter darkness into fractal beauty. Everywhere it
lies white, sparkling and pristine. Whenever I see a field of perfect
snow, I get the most wonderful feeling of potential: one can cross it in
any way one likes, making any tracks you desire - a straight path
across, a meandering exploration of the possibilities, a gentle curve
just for the broken symmetry, ballistic experiments with snowballs and
attempts to create snow artificial life. It all is there, open to
realization.
In the same way we are now standing before the open snowfield of 2002,
filled with potential. It is up to us to decide what we will create,
what possibilities we will use our energy and intellects to bring into
being. The future is ours to shape.
The excitement of creativity and watching our projects unfold is only
matched by the the delicious feeling of anticipation just before
springing into action. 2002 is going to be great - because we are going
to *make* it great.
At first light lay proud foundations.
Sense the greatness that before you unfolds.
Seek no more for hollow answers.
Answers that lay within you all along.
Farewell to dawns seen through saddened eyes.
Farewell to pasts to sorrows chained.
Forget your fears.
