Thanks for writing this, nothing like first hand observations.

It should be noted that this is not a specific problem to India,
this behavior occurs even in this country (America), visit a
housing project if you don't believe me.

We (SBC/Ameritech) have a large software operation in India linked
to my building by satelite. We also have a constantly rotating
cadre of software people from there working here in my building. A
large number of these people are women. They are all excellent at
what they do.

It's a matter of work ethic.
