Could it be that the messages weren't in the proper MIME format, or something along those lines? I only use web-based mail currently, so I don't know what would've happened if I'd been using the Netscape program, but on several messages (including one of Ken's from a few days ago; that's the only I remember anything about) I received an error message saying that it couldn't display them because they weren't in the proper MIME format. Just a guess...
