Netscape versions past 3, IE versions past 4, and Opera, I am not sure about other browsers such as Lynx, but with the above list you have the majority >90% of the market and that is probably good enough for most people. If the user has chosen to turn off JavaScripting in their browser well there isn't much anyone can do with that. Besides JavaScript can be made to run serverside eliminating that issue. And JSP/ASP/PHP all run Serverside as well dynamically delivering content to the desktop, using JavaScript inside the Page which isecuted at the server, not the browser. All you have to do is look for the large sign that says MINES, and then step carefully anyway.
