It is a good idea, but takeoff and landings would have to be completely
automated, tho the low price of CCD cameras today make a VR HUD a much
more affordable possibility. Perhaps some sort of intelligent
landing/takeoff governor program that would tweak control inputs if
pilot control got too far out of spec.
