Well, I'm rather quiet and shy in person. Does that give you
an idea? :)
More specifically, my experience on the net (15+ years) confirms
the idea that people's behavior interacting with others is very
strongly shaped by the medium in which they they interact. That's
part of the value of the net: it does change the rules, empowering
the wallflowers, emasculating the bullies, liberating the crippled.
Our culture evolved in a world of physical limitations. Changing
those changes the culture, and the people in it.
