Not having a ruler handy, I'll assume a pin head is about a mm (10^-3m)
in size. According to Nanomedicine, pg 383, atom diameters above K
are getting in the 0.5 nm (10^-9m) range, so a pin would be approximately
2x10^6 (2 million) atoms wide.
The current chips (at the 0.18 micrometer scale) are using lines
that are roughly 360 atoms wide (which isn't very wide when you
think about it...).
