By investing in short-term goals that aren't as paradigm
shattering as raw drextech we will eventually reach a stage
of technical maturity where building the first assembler
will be (fairly) trivial. Every stop on the road to the
first assembler has it's own rewards.

Of course, your best argument is that IBM and Xerox already
are putting the $$$'s into nanotech.
