This result might come from your sample. I have the same project, and
the people I discuss it with don't seem opposed to sacrificial
scanning. The point of electronic text is that it isn't the same as a
paper one. Lower weight and volume to start with, and SEARCHABLE. The
most controversial part of the project in these conversations is the
legal angle.

Remember, books aren't information. Books are pictures of information.
