Kurzweil believes that real AI will follow from brain scanning and the
ensuing detailed understanding of human intelligence.
As he hinted in e-mail conversations with me a while back, he is not so
bullish on non-closely-brain-based approaches to AI.
So although I think he is right, I'm not sure he is right for entirely the
right reasons.... I.e., he's right that computer hardware and brain
scanning will both be kick-ass before 2029, but will this be how AI comes
about?
