poly: I'm going to GMU

Thanks to everyone who offered advice. As it turned out,
UCB info decided that they were "impressed ... with your
intellect, energy and enthusiasm... [but] had a hard time
seeing how you would fit into the teaching needs of the
program ..."

So I'll be off to George Mason Univ econ, a rare place
where my breadth is considered to "fit." I'm encouraged
by the breadth of interests of several of their faculty,
and by the department's apparent attempt to outgrow its
true believer ideologue image.
