The problem is that the realtor's ratings were inaccurate. People trusted
the realtors to give accurate information, and they did not.
This is really just a matter of the realtors having an excessively high
reputation, higher than they deserved. Now that this mistake has occured,
people will know they need to be more careful about who they trust.
If the realtors were selling their advice, and if it was their main
business so that mistakes would threaten their livelihood, they would
have more incentive to get it right.
