That sounds reasonable. One could embed the information in the second
replicator in such a way that it would be impossible to easily get it
out of it without running it and asking nicely (for example, the
replicator might be a neural net). It might be possible to defect by
fooling the replicator, but it seems to be more trouble than it is
worth for the first replicator.
