I have a slight problem with the analysis.
The Earth is a nice example of the problem in miniature, and we indeed
*do* see living things almost anywhere that sterilizing methods
haven't been applied. HOWEVER, we don't see a planet filled with
maximally destructive creatures decimating everything in their
path. Why?
