In the December 1999 issue, Letter #28 to the senior associates, Eric says:
[Referring to patents] "...As the holder of many copyrights and several
(expired) patents, I had thought that the concept of intellectual property
made sense."
It doesnt surprise me that Eric started patenting stuff before his mid 20s.
