Do you really expect to get a frank critique of any large, organized
religious
group in a quasi-public forum (or even via private correspondence)? Do
you happen
to know if Salman Rushdie can venture out to the mall by himself these
days, or
is he still cooped up in a safe house under the protection of the
British
government? I doubt if the Catholic Church would put anybody on a hit
list for
making unflattering remarks about them in public (at least in this
country), but
what about that California religio-psychiatric sect popular in Hollywood
circles?

See also Eliezer Yudkowsky's _The Meaning of Life FAQ_, in which he
mentions the
pointlessness of making public remarks about organized religions that
might get
you beaten up, particularly at this moment in history, when all such
questions may
be on the verge of being rendered moot. Or go read some Bertrand
Russell.
