Eliezer,
I'll second Lee's perspective. I'm pushing quite hard to have
all of the SETI/CETI literature online next year (and if I can
get the permissions, for it to be open access). As a sub-level
of that I'm also dealing with some of the older aging/longevity literature.
I have absolutely no problem attempting to include other significant
milestones in AI, information systems development, etc.
The only way we are going to move forward is to stand on the
shoulders of those who came before us who are truly brilliant.
We honor the dead, who will never live again (at least on a
non-Tiplerian universe), and the living, by reading their words
and considering the individuals who wrote them. We should all
have access to those words. Their thoughts mate with our thoughts
and allow us to send ourselves and others holiday gifts when
outside we see nothing but hard ice and freezing snow.
