I am delighted to see all the recent messages concerning this
weekend's Mars Polar Lander mission.
I spent all afternoon/night Friday manning a table at Chicago's
Adler Planetarium for the Chicago chapter of the Mars Society.

The results are about as disappointing as a party can be when the
guest of honor fails to show....
My comment to one of the interviewing news crews "I guess we need
to send a crew up to check on it" brought knowing smiles.
