Nanotubes Make Tiny Diodes.
Scientists have made another step toward the miniaturization of electronic
devices. In today's Nature, they show that a single nanotube--a microscopic
pipe made of carbon--can act as a diode, a standard electronic component
that allows current to pass in one direction but not the other.
