Aubrey de Grey's theory

Hi!

I have a couple of stupid questions -- particularly for someone working in
gerontology. It goes like this, what evidences exist to support Aubrey de
Grey's theory? Why the "counter-intuitive" argument? Sure it's elegant but
I'm sure I can imagine others.

Also, you wrote:

Why is this relevant? I mean, what has the cellular membrane has to do with
anything? Why don't you also mention ROS damage to nuclear DNA?

I understand the theory of accumulating mutant mitochondria, I just want to
know evidences supporting it and why should it only affect post-mitotic cells?

Presumably you know something I don't -- I a haven't read his original
article. I'd be thankful if you could give me an explanation on the subject.

Best wishes.
