Back when I was working on a PhD in artificial intelligence, I was intrigued by fuzzy
logic and wanted to use it in my thesis. My advisor advised me that fuzzy logic was
very controversial, and I'd hurt my chances for a good job after school if I included it.
I see a pattern developing....
