I can see where some might interpret my ridicule of the Mars-
face stuff that way, so I'll clarify: I don't think you're stupid
at all. Indeed, I'm trying to show how an apparently educated,
intelligent and rational individual can be taken in by nonsense
presented well. Just ask any magician: scientists are the
easiest people in the world to fool. Fooling other magicians
is the real challenge. Scientists should be trained in how to
spot fakery, and we as futurists and speculators need to be
better trained to avoid being sidetracked by nonsense. That's
what I'm trying to point out here--nothing personal--you're
just a convenient target that popped up into the sights.
