Depends on who you talk to, if you pick up the latest copy of
"Homepower" magazine you'll find there are thousands who've
disconnected from the grid. In fact last time I checked the claim
was that new home systems were cheaper if your new house was 1/2
mile off the existing grid. The guy who wrote the "Earthships" trio
of books has been living off solar electricity for over 20 years.
Let's not forget 2nd stage solar which includes both wind and
hydroelectric power.....
