Be aware that transdermal patches still deliver nicotine and can affect the
heart. If someone is supposed to quit smoking due to heart problems or high
blood pressure, they must not use nicotine in any form. Any form of
nicotine will constrict the blood vessels, raise the blood pressure, and
increase the chances for stroke or heart attack.
