Everyday Risks to life

Can someone enlighten me about the risks to everyday life?
Isnt it true that the longer you live, even activities with very low risks
become more likely? (lightning strike, airline crash etc..)

I cant seem to find much on the net comparing different activities, and the
data are usually calculated in different units.
example: 1997 National highway traffic safety admin stats are "Fatalities
per 100 million vehicle miles traveled" which is 1.6 and the National
transportation safety board (for aviation safety) lists general aviation
(private) fatalities as 1.35 per 100,000 flight hours.

How would I determine which is the more dangerous and by how much?

I dont want my immortality spoiled by a drunk driver or something!

man, if I only had a few hundred extra brains..... oh wait, I do! extropians
are cool!
