That's a nifty idea, and would not require nanotech. A resident
monitor would be extremely handy. The main problem would be attachment to
the intestinal wall, which would be a little tough for a mechanism.
Maybe a cyborg tapeworm? :-) They are pretty harmless, albeit gross.
