The differences are large enough, as I found out while researching
soundcards. Gold is a better conductor than copper, and doesn't corrode
nearly as quickly as silver, but costs more and jumps up the price on
hardware (like the AWE64 Gold). Silver is the best conductor, but it
corrodes WAY too quickly. Copper is the favorite, as it's fairly cheap and
a reliable conductor.
