I was excited over this news. I think the thylacine would be a great
poster child for genetic engineering in general, especially since it
is a very exotic-looking animal, yet one with resonances of man's
best friend, the dog. It would rate very high on the warm-and-fuzzy
scale, put in the right light, etc.
