I've just about completed reading Ray Durzweil's book "The Age of Spiritual
Machines".
Assuming he is mostly correct then I beleive he's answered the question as to
where all the Extra Terrestrials are. Theyre in cyberspace.
I beleive he described the singularity.
He mentions using bucky tubes as a possible building material for very future
powerful comuputers. This would appear to indicate that carbon would be a very
useful material for a post singularity culture.
What type of Stellar engineering would be required to alter a star generate
excessive carbon? What might it look like from earth?
