Although such a system is used in transcendant monotheism generally (Judaism, Christsanity, Islam, Zoroastrianism), there are also examples of dual systems where "good" and "bad" do not apply, i.e. Taoism (yin/yang), Vajrayana Buddhism (yab/yum), Wicca (God/Goddess) and the psychology of Carl Jung (anima/animus). It is interesting to note that when the division is not a "good cop/bad cop" one, it typically falls along (some version of) gender attribute lines.
