The most productive/optimistic view to take is that people's apparent
stupidity merely reflects a set of bad habits, correctable with
sufficient effort, patience, etc. I know this & try to keep it in mind,
but then I go to the pharmacy (I'm a
pharmacist) & have to explain to a patient that they have to unwrap a
suppository before using
it, or worse yet, why the suppository tastes so bad...
Discouraging but true.
