Who says the universe doesn't allow paradoxes? Time travel with paradoxes
is actually a lot more consistent than any of the paradox-forbidden schemes
I have seen. Of course, it makes the universe a pretty weird place once
time travel is invented, but not any stranger than quantum mechanics. The
only concrete objection I can see is that it violates conservation of
energy - but so do most other versions of time travel.
