I am beginning work on a short essay (for publication) about governmental
involvement in the development of a particular new technology and am looking
for instructive examples of this phenomena -- positive and negative -- from
history, both recent and less so. I would appreciate any such examples the
list might suggest and, especially, any pointers to good discussions of the
impact of governmental regulation on technology and industrial development.
Thanks in advance.
