While I haven't seen the movie, reports make it sound very much like a
Philip K. Dick novel (especially TIME OUT OF JOINT, THE COSMIC PUPPETS or
EYE IN THE SKY), perhaps spliced onto Robert Heinlein's classic `The
Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag' and `They'. All the more reason to
see it, of course - but I'm wondering if any of the reviewers have made
these connections? Those I've read all act as if the idea sprang from
nowhere in a blast of sheer genius into the brain of Andrew Niccol.
