The central government with its' legal monopolies and arcane tax laws is a
great contributor to the present horrible state of the poor in the US. The
minimum wage law and welfare are two more problems.

We have never seen a true free market on Earth, far as I can see. Maybe we
need to try it before dismissing it out of hand..
