D'oh! I was thinking of Julian's granddad Thomas Henry Huxley.
Good to see that quote from Julian H. He's an extremely important
evolutionary thinker whose cultural thinking has tended to be neglected
lately. On the other hand, he did (to some extent at least) fall for that
loony fraud Teilhard.
