This ain't natural. This happens because the government makes it hard to
be a new small bank, (regulations and fees which fall equally on large and
small banks, etc.) thus making it UNnaturally economically desirable to
merge with other banks.
Monopolies are only economically efficient if you can prevent small
business from stealing your customers, and the best way to do that is to
get the government to help.
