It is a strange effect, similar to the fact that everybody apparently
knows everything there is to know about the "soft sciences" and
economics, while being very humble about their scientific
knowledge. Must be some kind of subliminal information transmission
:-)

More seriously, in some sense the news are an approximative fitness
function synopsis.
