WIRED magazine has published the results of a fascinating poll of the "wired"
community. The article by Jon Katz and some of the poll results can be found
at

       http://www.hotwired.com/special/citizen/

Some quotes from the "tag lines":

    The Digital Citizen
The first in-depth poll finds Digital Citizens are optimistic, tolerant,
civic-minded,
and radically committed to change. And they vote.

The Wired/Merrill Lynch Forum Digital Citizen Survey, conducted by Luntz
Research Companies, polled 1,444 Americans to examine their views
   on technology and society.

I highly recommend this article as one of the first empirical "snapshots" of
the emerging "digital nation".
