META: Get a filter, get a life

Seems like the people who complain about the signal-to-noise are
among the most frequent posters. What's wrong with this picture?
My suspicion is that people who don't filter their mail (by
computer, skimming or just plain getting up and doing something else)
are addicted to noise, and asking for noise with a better S/N ratio--
or is it S/M ratio?--is futile.

My mail filter and my legs work fine for me, leave me off any insider's
lists.

P.S. When was the last time an email message of ANY kind changed your life?
Let's have a controled test, here. Anyway I met some of my best
   friends through this list.
