By all means, let's imitate what original thinkers do.

Escher did some wonderful things with circles, particularly
Circle Limit III and his last work, Snakes.

I've been wanting to make a hyperbolic chessboard, with
right-angled pentagonal cells, but haven't yet learned the
math well enough. That could make a good icon for the idea
"the universe (of possibilities) is bigger than you think".
