Forgot another definition of "quid pro con": 3. tricking someone into a sense
of closure by letting them disagree with you or "have their say". Leaving
someone holding the stake, or giving them the short end of the stake.
1. The polite way people line up on prearranged "opposite sides" of a
predefined "issue". The favor that ridiculous opponents do each
other (e.g., the quid pro con between Democrats and Republicans,
Communists and Capitalists, etc.). Balance of Error.
2. More generally, any mutual imprisonment arrangement.
