I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned Marshall Savage's book "The
Millenial Project" yet. In addition, I would add David Zindell's "The
Broken God" (though it is more introspective than "Neverness"), "Brave New
World Revisited" by Aldous Huxley (essays written a few years before
Huxley's death...they deal with the possibilities of overcoming the
problems he stated in his groundbreaking novel "Brave New World"). I have
also heard (though I have not read it myself yet) that David Friedman's new
book "Hidden Order" is quite progressive with more of an active businessman
perspective that "Machinery of Freedom." Also, I strongly support the
prescence of "Atlas Shrugged" on the reading list; though objectivism hasn't
really progressed since its conception, it still is (in my opinion)
essential as an extropian core value.
