You don't. If the galaxy dies, you should have enough warning
to convert as much as you can into spores, some of which may
find their way into other galaxies, where they can start over.
At least the next version of you will spring from part of your mind.

Long before you occupy the whole galaxy, your mind will be highly
redundant anyway because of the distances.
