I see two possibilities:
Either you have a distributed mind, like our current brains, where
memories are spread out across the entire galaxy. Might be a bit
slow, but local damage only makes a memory a little bit fuzzier.
Or you can, assuming you consist of dyson-sphere jupiter brains, keep
your memory backups in unpowered but resilent spheres of matter (say
neutronium crystals) between the stars. When you need them, just
bring them in and power them up. This might be the real dark matter
of the universe: backups.
