Thought this one would be amusing...
BAGHDAD, Iraq (Feb 17, 1997 12:01 p.m. EST) -- Add this to America's arsenal.
An Iraqi government newspaper has declared the Internet "the end of
civilizations, cultures, interests and ethics."
The computer network "is one of the American means to enter every house in
the world," Al-Jumhuriya said in an editorial Monday. "They want to become
the only source for controlling human beings in the new electronic village."
Iraqi newspapers often blame Washington for the country's suffering under a
U.N. embargo, which was imposed in 1990 after Iraq invaded Kuwait,
prompting the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
There is no access to the Internet in Iraq.
