The Long Hard Road To Freedom

Every new day
Reveals a little of tomorrow,
A semblance of the future
And a downcast look on sorrow;
Every new day
Sheds a little understanding
Of the forces blocking freedom
And the liberal reprimanding.

The long hard road to freedom
Is traveled by many feet,
Weathered by dusty friendships
And those who'll never meet;
But for all those who have failed
And those who'll fail yet,
Their journeys are never in vain
For their intentions will be met
By the next-best ones in line--
Striving to be the best,
Going the extra distance
To surpass all of the rest.

Every new day
Takes some pressure off of the last,
Makes the future a little brighter,
Adds some humor to the past;
Every new day
Provides a bit of a rebirth,
A new outlook on life
And a renaissance of worth.

The long hard road to freedom
Is traveled daily still,
By the fearless future-seekers
Who maintain their freer will;
And though the road is ever lengthening
Its heavy, rough terrain,
One day it shall be conquered
By those who dared remain.
