I agree with you. History is a product; if no one pays for it, it
will not get produced as much. We have academic positions in which
tenured specialists are paid salaries specificially to produce
history, but I don't care for single-sourcing of my information
products. Too many of these institutions are beholden to government
interests these days for me to trust them blindly.
